Amy Gershkoff, who worked in a dual role as WPP’s chief data scientist and Burson-Marsteller’s global managing director of analytics and strategy, has left the holding company to be director of customer insights and analytics at eBay.
At WPP, Gershkoff worked across the holding company’s 350 operating companies on data and technology solutions. Meanwhile, she also designed custom measurement platforms for Burson’s clients and oversaw all the social and digital media analytics programs for the agency.
A spokesperson at Burson said the firm is currently seeking a replacement for Gershkoff, who joined WPP in 2012. In an interview earlier this year, Gershkoff told the Holmes Report that Burson hired her to start a global analytics program and implement more data-driven decision making across the agency. For instance, like quantifying campaign results and providing more evidence-based recommendations and strategies for social and digital media programs.
Gershkoff, who has a PhD in political science, was formerly the director of media planning at Obama for America. She’s considered one of the key architects of Obama’s ad strategy.
